During the Vietnam War it functioned as a secret base of the Saigon–Gia Định Special Forces. Hidden compartments and an underground bunker were used to store documents, money, and weapons, and to coordinate operations connected to events such as the Tet Offensive. Today visitors can still see the preserved bunker and historical artifacts, which makes the visit both fascinating and educational.\nPrices are very reasonable, and ordering a drink essentially becomes your “entrance ticket” to explore this remarkable historical space. The food seemed a bit pricey but tasted good. The nuc mam was very spicy though. Came mainly to check out the secret bunker. Honestly my biggest highlight it was soooo cool. I was a bit sad cause I wanted to check it out, soon after a staff member from the cafe called me over next door to check out the secret bunker. Basiscally she lifted a tile off the floor and told me to climb down. Had no idea what was going on but once I went down it was coolest thing. Amazed how the bunker was set out. Definitely a must visit stop in Ho Chi Minh city. Oh and did not realise you can enjoy your food and drink on the balcony.
