I have visited several branches of this place and have always been very satisfied, but this location was absolutely terrible. It honestly feels like they are deliberately misleading customers. I always order the same bun and I know it is supposed to be completely filled with cream, but here they just pretend and put a small amount on top. In fact, my bun was completely hollow inside. I even checked other pastries and was shocked: the cream was either already dried out or just drizzled on top for show, and inside they were almost empty. I will never come back to this branch and I strongly advise others to stay away as well. There is another branch of this chain literally 500 meters away and the difference between them is like night and day.[sky] If you want normal quality, go to the other branch instead.

Artisan Estella An Phu - Bakery in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Artisan Estella An Phu sits in the Bình Trưng pocket of An Phu—a residential quarter favoured by long-term expats and Vietnamese families drawn to the Estella Place corridor. The address puts it away from the busier Thao Dien strip, which tends to mean regulars rather than passing traffic: the kind of crowd that knows what they want and comes back for it.
The 6:30 AM opening is one of the earlier starts in the neighbourhood, making it a practical choice on weekdays when most competing cafés don't unlock until seven or later. That early slot also sets the tone—this is a place oriented around the morning, around fresh product, around the kind of unhurried transaction that a good neighbourhood bakery enables. Hours run through to 10 PM, so the window covers everything from a pre-commute pastry to an after-dinner slice.
With 168 Google reviews averaging 4.2 stars, Artisan Estella An Phu has built a consistent reputation without relying on social-media hype cycles. That volume of reviews in a residential side-street location suggests steady repeat custom rather than one-off tourist visits—a useful signal when assessing whether a bakery actually bakes well or just photographs well.
For anyone based in An Phu or the eastern edge of Thao Dien, the location is more convenient than the cluster of cafés nearer the river. The trade-off is that it lacks the waterfront setting some competitors offer, but for a morning pick-up or a quiet weekday sit-down, proximity and consistent quality tend to outweigh scenery.

It's spacious and delocious breads
I stopped by on my way home from dinner ‘Cause I was craving for cheese cake! Nice and new setup! The Basque burnt cheese cake’s crust was too dried and the cheese cake is barely enough of a egg tart than cheese cake! The NY cheese cake was a bit better … but please don’t call NY cheese cake … caused it is NOTHING like NY cheese cake!
I’ve visited this here a few times, and I’m grateful for how kind the staff are. If it‘s not extremely crowded, I could see how they always try their best to take good care of customers. Also pastries are delicious, and I’d say it’s best to visit on Sunday mornings to enjoy their coffee with breads!
Best cafe in this side of the Hanoi Highway. Walking distance from Estella Mall. Great generous facilities with equally delicious food & drinks.
