Au Patio - Brunch & Wine - Brunch restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Au Patio sits on a quiet stretch of Nguyễn Văn Hưởng in An Khánh ward, its open-to-the-street layout drawing in morning light and an unhurried pace that sets it apart from the busier café strips nearby. The room runs small — roughly five tables — which keeps the energy focused and the service unusually attentive; staff here are known to remember regulars' orders across visits without prompting.
The menu leans toward Western brunch staples executed with consistency. Homemade granola with fresh fruit and yogurt is a persistent standout: unflashy in concept but praised across visits for freshness and balance. Eggs benedict with bacon travels just as well, and the kitchen takes additions like avocado in stride. Fresh juices pair naturally with the savory plates, and for later arrivals, a lychee martini adds a low-key celebratory note to what is otherwise a daytime-only kitchen — last orders at 3 PM, seven days a week.
Coffee is treated seriously: americano and cappuccino draw steady compliments for quality and temperature. Vietnamese condensed milk coffee is not on offer, which is worth knowing before the first visit. Presentation across dishes tends to be clean and composed without veering into styling-over-substance territory.
What separates this venue from the wider Thao Dien brunch circuit is less novelty than reliability. The same dishes land consistently well across return visits, and the front-of-house moves quickly without manufacturing urgency. The constraint is capacity: weekend mornings fill the room fast, and walk-ins during peak hours often wait. An early arrival or a reservation is the practical move for anyone planning around it.
The crowd skews toward expat regulars, international travelers staying in the district, and local professionals who treat Saturday morning as an extended ritual rather than a quick stop.
Reviews
Lovely spot for brunch! I ordered an egg bennedict bacon and added avocado together with a gym skin juice. Will always come back for tasty food and fresh juice.
Fantastic cafe in the heart of District 1. The homemade granola with fruit and yogurt was my favourite, but everything we had was very good and fresh. We came often and friendly staff automatically knew to bring us two hot americanos. Tried the Lychee Martini for a brunch treat and enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend.
