Updates: Cafe’talk has a new outlook and is renamed Memory Lane. It now has a nice and cosy inside space with air-conditioning and an open-space backyard. The menu is slightly different from the previous one. Goods: fresh ingredients, super delicious food that is cooked on demand. My wife and I have tried many dishes here, including hủ tiếu bò kho, hủ tiếu xào hải sản, bún gạo xào hải sản, bún bò, cơm bò lúc lắc, xá xíu sốt mật ong, canh chua cá hú, and we haven’t been disappointed. Moreover, you are greeted by a friendly staff with a cold bottle of fresh water and towels (khăn viên kẹo). We were a bit dissatisfied when this welcome was not available when we first came back after the refurbishment. To improve: the waiting time is a bit long (because the dish is cooked on demand). It was hot when there was only the open-space backyard when we visited there for lunch. However, with the new refurbishment, we can enjoy the air-conditioning space. The price is slightly high but well worth the quality. Compared to other restaurants in Thao Dien, the cost is fair, though.

Cafe'talk - Coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Cafe'talk has rebranded as Memory Lane, and the transformation goes beyond the name — there is now an air-conditioned interior alongside the original open-air backyard, giving guests a choice of setting depending on the hour or mood. The kitchen draws more attention than the coffee in many regulars' notes: a roster of Vietnamese comfort dishes, all cooked fresh to order, includes hủ tiếu bò kho, hủ tiếu xào hải sản, bún gạo xào hải sản, and cơm bò lúc lắc. The xá xíu sốt mật ong and canh chua cá hú round out a menu that covers considerably more ground than a typical café in the neighborhood, with bánh mỳ chảo chay available for vegetarians.
The drinks side holds its own: machine-brewed espresso and a selection of fresh fruit teas, carefully prepared. One reviewer flagged the food as leaning slightly salty, though consistency and freshness otherwise draw steady praise across visits. Pricing sits at a reasonable level for Thao Dien, where most venues target a premium expatriate bracket — a practical draw for those who return regularly.
Located at the end of a short alley off Lê Văn Miến, the spot stays noticeably quieter than the main strip even during weekend rushes. That quality draws a mix of laptop workers seeking a few undisturbed hours and small groups arriving for a proper sit-down meal. The owner and staff are consistently described as warm without being intrusive. For visitors who find Thao Dien's busier café clusters too loud to linger in, this spot offers something less common in the neighborhood: a genuinely unhurried pace paired with a kitchen that takes the food as seriously as the coffee.
