I really like Chivago since a long time ago and been to their D1 location many times. I was surprised that this place was empty on a Friday night. The space is decent with high ceilings . The Korean manager even came and served our table. I really hope this place is more popular. I’m satisfied with my experience and will return more often. P/s: the chicken marinade got a bit saltier after it cooled down, maybe management can look into it.
They have mastered the crunchiness of fried chicken skin. This place's signature dish is the crunchiest fried chicken dish I have ever ate. As of the time of reviewing (Jan 2026), the portion is big, the price is affordable (2 dishes, 2 drinks for 2 ppl costs around 500k), the restaurant is clean and spacious and the service is ok. Last but not least, their dishes are delicious for "nhậu" and as such, should be consumed with their delicious passion fruit infused beer.

I'm hesitant to try new restaurants in Saigon as I find most are disappointing, but Chivago was way better than I expected, maybe because the Korean manager/owner is there making sure the level of quality is maintained. The chicken came out crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside, satisfyingly coming apart with just the side of the fork. The restaurant is spacious, comfortable, with clean air and a moderate noise level, all of which can be extremely rare in Vietnam. Excellent job guys! Will definitely be back.
Chivago is a great spot for any group size, whether you’re dining solo, with friends, or a big group, it works perfectly. The food is consistently delicious, and the ambiance is both stylish and comfortable. Plus, everything is reasonably priced, making it an awesome go-to for affordable yet satisfying meals. Highly recommended!
