Hang Xanh Homestay - Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

Great place to stay in, especially for the price. The amenities were prepared with care - there's a tiny kitchenette with nice and clean utensils, knife, chopping board, induction cooker with pan, and even cooking oil and salt/sugar/pepper ready. There was plenty of toilet paper, towels, paper towels, hand soap in both bathroom and kitchenette, shampoo, shower gel and also bar soap. There were candies and various tea/coffee packs ready, and a water jug, and LaVie and beers in the fridge (and the fridge was big and clean). Plenty of power outlets, and an extension cord too. Good internet. Washer and dryer available on the ground floor (and laundry detergent), and plenty of hangers in the room. Everything clean - both floors and bedding. Bed comfortable, just soft enough foam. One downside though - not very good door, so there was noise from the adjacent main road throughout the night, and the building would swing a bit when heavy trucks passed (I was on the 5th floor).

The warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness from the owner and his wife made this a true “home away from home,” especially after a disappointing seven-day stay in Hanoi. First Impressions: Before I Even Arrived After booking, the owner promptly sent a friendly message saying he was looking forward to my stay—something I usually only see from larger hotels. I replied, asking for directions and a few details since it was my first time in Ho Chi Minh. Many hosts don’t bother replying once a booking is confirmed unless it’s a five-star property, but he did. Although he wasn’t familiar with all my questions, he took the extra mile to research and get back to me. That effort set a wonderful tone before I even arrived. Arrival: Kindness at the Alley Entrance My taxi dropped me off on a side road near another hotel by mistake. A security guard pointed me to the correct alley. As I walked in, the owner spotted me immediately and came out to help with my heavy luggage. I believe he was waiting nearby, likely aware that a foreign guest might have trouble finding the place since there’s no signboard with the homestay’s name. He doesn’t speak much English, but his constant smile and readiness to help spoke louder than words. A Warm, Welcoming Stay Every time I saw the owner and his wife, they were friendly and made me feel like I was coming back home. Simple gestures mattered: when my laundry cycle finished, staff took the clothes out and placed them neatly in a clean basket. The atmosphere was relaxed and personal—nothing felt transactional or rushed. Thoughtful Amenities That Made Life Easy The room itself was thoughtfully equipped, almost like a small apartment: A cozy sofa and a small kitchen area made it easy to relax and prepare simple meals. The kitchen came with pots, a flask, plates, cutlery, seasonings, cooking oil, and a fridge—everything I needed to cook or store food. Bathrooms were stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer. There was even an umbrella provided, which was a lifesaver during sudden showers. These details showed how much the owners thought about what guests might need, especially first-time visitors like me. Final Thoughts I’m writing this on my last night because I want future guests to know what to expect: genuine hospitality, thoughtful service, and a real sense of belonging. If you’re looking for a place in Ho Chi Minh where you’ll be treated like family rather than just another booking, this homestay is it.

My favorite place I stood in Ho Chi Minh City for sure. Owner and staff and super kind, friendly and hospitable. The room was clean, air conditioner worked great and the bed was very comfortable. I was getting more questionable hotels before this and If I had known about this place, I likely would've stayed here most of my trip in Saigon. 10/10 I highly recommend others to stay and I will come back here when I return to Saigon. No tengo palabras para describir lo especial que fue mi estancia aquí. El personal es increíblemente amable y atento, te hacen sentir parte de su familia. La habitación está equipada al detalle: cocina con aceite, sal y pimienta, nevera con cerveza!!!!! 😁 y agua gratis, utensilios limpios, jabón y champú de calidad... ¡y todo sin coste extra! La limpieza es impecable y el servicio, excelente. Si buscas un lugar donde el calor humano y los detalles marcan la diferencia, este es el sitio. ¡Volveré sin dudarlo!
