Absolutely amazing restaurant. All of the food was fantastic and the young owner was super duper friendly!! If you wanna feel the Jeju island, this is the right place. My friends and I left with a big smile for enjoying such a wonderful night out. This is gonna be the hottest place in Thao Dien for sure.

Labong 라봉 - Korean restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Labong 라봉 brings the aesthetic of Jeju Island into Thao Dien's An Phu quarter — the interior references the Korean island deliberately, and the menu follows through with 제주 고기국수 (Jeju-style meat noodle soup, available at varying spice levels) and a whole-chicken set built around dakjumulleok with fried rice, dakbaeksuk, and mung bean porridge. Private rooms separated from the main floor make it practical for gatherings that need their own space, a feature less common among the neighborhood's Korean options.
The kitchen's most-praised dish is the fried chicken. A Korean diner rated it more tender and juicy than comparable versions back home — a pointed endorsement that goes beyond standard praise. Charcoal BBQ and돔베고기 (Jeju-style sliced pork) anchor the meatier side of the menu, while gambas and a spicy cream shrimp pasta signal a kitchen comfortable stretching beyond strictly Korean territory.
Waffles have become an unexpected signature. Their texture sits closer to soft bread than the crisp street-style grid, which converted at least one self-described non-dessert eater among early visitors. Handmade gelato serves as a natural endpoint for families who arrive for ice cream and end up staying for a full meal — apparently a pattern.
The young owner's visible involvement is a recurring detail in guest accounts, and the team reads as energetic despite kitchen pace slowing during peak dinner service. Noodles and pasta move faster than the mains, so arriving with extra time built in pays off. The venue draws Korean expats and residents from the wider district alongside Thao Dien regulars, and its combination of Jeju-specific references, private dining rooms, and a broad menu positions it distinctly in a neighborhood that has no shortage of Korean restaurants.

Reviews
As a Korean, I think La Bong is a place where you can get way better Korean chicken than in Korea. It was a very tender and juicy. I can tell you that was excellent dish. AND ! La Bong's beautiful Korean waffles made even me, who doesn't have a sweet tooth, addicted to them. but since it had just opened, the staff were not as skilled, but they seemed much more energetic and passionate than the staff at older Vietnamese restaurants.
Very good
