Lẩu Soái Tướng Quân - Lead General Hotpot Landmark 81 Ho Chi Minh City | 帅将军(胡志明店)火锅 - Mandarin restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Lẩu Soái Tướng Quân occupies a floor inside Vincom Center Landmark 81, Ho Chi Minh City's tallest tower, giving it one of the most recognizable addresses in Binh Thanh district. The format is buffet, organized around three house broths: the spicy oil base (dầu cay) arrives fragrant rather than sharp, producing a mild, clean heat without the bitterness or heavy aftertaste that follows poorly rendered oil-based broths elsewhere; the tomato broth is notably thick with actual tomato flavor — dense and concentrated in a way that reviewers found genuinely surprising compared to the watered-down versions common at other hotpot chains; the mushroom broth is the lightest of the three, clear and straightforward for diners avoiding heat. Fresh beef, pork, and lamb are all on offer, though the beef slices have run on the thick side in early visits, which can slow cooking time depending on the table's preference.
Tables are broad enough to accommodate a full spread without the crowding that smaller hotpot venues tend to produce, and the layout suits the extended, communal pace the format calls for. The buffet bar keeps things simple — two fruits, three drinks (trà sữa, bí đao tea, lemon tea), and dipping sauces — leaning minimal rather than expansive. Pricing sits at a mid-range buffet level, which makes it a natural comparison point to Haidilao; on service, the staff have drawn consistent praise across early reviews for being attentive and patient with first-timers. The 10:30 AM opening accommodates the Vietnamese habit of hotpot as a long midday meal, drawing families and friend groups who want a table with room to settle in.
Reviews
The broth tastes fairly average, and the fresh ingredients aren’t especially remarkable, though they’re nicely presented. The staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to help when needed.
Good for the promotional buffet price. Beef was a bit too thick. However, it will face a challenge competing with Haidilao unless it competes on price.
It’s amazing here the staff are lovely. We have never done something like this before and the helped us both out so much. Definitely recommend this place will definitely be back again.
Good hotpot experience. Bold flavors, friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and worth trying if you’re in the area. Would come back next time.
