The Story

About This Place

Phở Chào held Michelin Bib Gourmand status for three consecutive years (2023–2025) by doing two things exceptionally well: an honest bowl of Hanoi-style phở bò and a wildly inventive fusion item called the Phởtine — golden fries layered with phở broth, rare beef slices, and the restaurant's house-made garlic-chili sauce. The Phởtine has no equivalent anywhere else in Vietnam, and the Ragutine — the same fries topped with slow-braised ragu bò and cheddar — confirms the concept is more than a novelty.

The broth is the backbone of the operation. Slow-simmered until clean and fragrant, it arrives at exactly the temperature needed to bring rare beef slices to medium at the table. A garlic-chili sauce sits on every table; the regulars reach for it without prompting. Prices stay in the 50,000–90,000 VND range for most bowls, which draws a broad crowd: expats from nearby serviced apartments, Japanese tourists from the surrounding neighborhood, and local families working through the morning routine together.

The space is modest — outdoor and indoor seating, fast turnover — and at least one staff member handles English comfortably, which makes ordering the more unconventional dishes straightforward. Beyond phở, the kitchen runs a wider northern Vietnamese menu: Mama Dung's fish-sauce fried chicken, eels with vermicelli, braised carp with galangal, and northern-style combo rice plates built for groups. The beef stew (ragu bò) drew mixed reception when ordered as a standalone dish; the kitchen's strengths sit clearly with the phở bowls and the fusion plates.

Open daily from 6:30 AM through 8 PM, Phở Chào covers the full arc from early breakfast crowds chasing a clean morning bowl to afternoon guests arriving after the lunch rush has cleared.

Hands down one of the best pho I ever had! Soup is clean and light, yet fragrant and complex. The temperature of the soup just hot enough, I hate luke warm or overly boiling stock. This is just right and able to turn the raw beef into medium. The soup is so good, i finished it. Please do not forget to dip the beef into their home made garlic chili sauce.

Pho spo spot that also has other interesting items. I got the fried chicken and the pho poutine, both were pretty darn good. This place is also Michelin recommended.

Made a bad choice of ordering beef stew instead of Pho noodle. It tastes horrible and nothing like beef stew. The meat portion is about the size of three fingers. The colors do not look right, mostly the taste of corn starch. Michelin probably sampled the pho noodle dishes and not this beef stew. Very disappointed. For 90k dish.

I had the Photine and I got some veg fried rice without beef, a special order that they made it for me as my girlfriend is a vegetarian. Aunty Cha, said no worries I will make something for you and it was phenomenal, loved it. I got a take away and I would highly recommend. Also, when I walked in I didn't know it was a Michelin Star restaurant, really happy I had the pleasure.

This small restaurant was in Michelin Bib Gourmand from 2023 to 2025 so decided to try as I was craving soup as well as noodles. Outdoor and indoor seatings are available. I ordered the Pho with beef. The order came very fast. The soup was indeed very flavorful and came with a generous amount of beef. The noodles were also cooked very well. For those spicy lover, you can add the chilli sauce which is on each table for some spiciness. One of the staff members is proficient in English, which is very helpful for our international guests who may require explanations regarding the available dishes.
