Sushi was amazing and better than most places I’ve been to in the states. Must visit if you’re in the area and craving sushi.

Best way to wrap up my Vietnam trip. The food was 10/10 and the staff were literally the sweetest. Defo coming back for more next time!

Entering the establishment for the first time was an experience. The quality of the dishes presented was rated a respectable 6 out of 10. Perhaps the sushi options excel beyond the meal selected. The staff members exhibited a welcoming demeanor, ensuring swift and courteous service throughout. Their politeness did not go unnoticed, and it certainly enhanced the experience. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, contributing positively to the visit. This dining spot holds potential for future visits.

I declined the 10% discount offered by the restaurant to write a review with pictures. At the end of the meal, the server offered 10% discount again regardless of a review or not, I refused that. The server then brought out a panna cotta dessert as a "free" compliment item, I refused that also. There's no undermining the integrity of my review. [The goods] - Decoration and lighting were well designed - High quality music speaker and at acceptable volume - Noise level is low and easy to have a conversation - Food arrives quickly (~10-15 min.) - Accepts Moreta Pay as a QR payment transfer instead of cash, particularly useful for tourists [The bads] - The dining plate was very dirty. I removed 2 large specks of dirt on my dining plate (not pictured). I then decided to wipe the plate with the restaurant's wet tissue (Picture 1, zoom in). You could see the amount of dirt on there is unacceptable. Next, I wiped the table with the other side of the wet tissue and found the table was clean. I brought this to the attention of the server at the end of the meal but was met with excuses. I fully understand that the restaurant recently completed construction and that the employees have been cleaning the surfaces many times due to this problem. Well, the problem still persisted, therefore, their solutions were ineffective. The restaurant could do what some other sushi restaurants do: bring out the dining utensils and plates after the customer sat down. Another solution is to run air purifier machine(s) all days leading up to the soft opening and let them run overnight also. Would you let your parents, children, and/or friends eat off of dirty plates? Yet, the restaurant just gave up and let customers eat on dirty plates instead. - Deceiving menu pictures (Pic 2). The item pictured clearly demonstrated the real shredded crab meat ingredients and the amount. The item brought out was shredded imitation crab meat and at only about half the portion. I brought this to the attention of the server and was given another excuse that 'there is actually real crab meat that gets grinded up with the innards to make the cheesy sauce on it' and the menu is old. That sounds like a blatant lie. They could've done it completely opposite and grind up the imitation crab meat instead and then stuff it with real crab meat... like how it's supposed to be on the menu. - My favorite when visiting sushi places here and abroad is the tuna. Sushi Way's tuna looks really pathetic and tasted 6 out of 10, not good quality. (Pic 4) - Chef forgot to wrap seaweed around the crab nigiri. (Pic 4 & 5, Combo 1) - The crab roll was unimpressive and overpriced. I couldn't taste the crab, just a lot of tempura. - The salad tasted good but highly overpriced. - The extra bowl of rice I ordered was dry and hard (still hot). It sat at my table for less than 5 minutes (Pic 9 doesn't show it well). I had to request another. I brought this to the attention of the server and was given yet another excuse that maybe the rice was sitting for too long in the kitchen. Somehow, the newer bowl of rice came out great, even when I let it sat there for 10 min. I worked as a sushi chef before, I should know. - The strangest thing I encountered was the soy sauce was very light colored and watery (Pic 10). It definitely tasted more bland (less depth) than what I usually have at sushi restaurants. The wasabi has less kick and flavor depth. Cutting corners on the soy sauce and wasabi too? - The drink was mostly ice from top to bottom. - Mosquitoes. This is yet another Vietnamese brand trying to profit from the Japanese brand and they failed at every steps of the way. Even their own website doesn't display the supposedly English version. Soft opening is a lazy excuse even when it's their 5th branch in HCMC. They are pricing themselves as mid to high end sushi retaurant yet cutting corners on every single dishes and condiments. The restaurant failed at all 5 of its own core values. Sushi Way only cares about giving customers the least value for the most profit.

My review is don’t bother eating here. It’s expensive for what it is and what it is is basically tasteless. The tuna and salmon barely even taste like anything. The rolls are poorly constructed and fall apart and also, pretty tasteless. This is actually my second time eating an I can honestly say…it’s very likely this restaurant will close down. The roll I ordered taste basically like rice and soy sauce. Not even the slightest taste of any kind of fish or anything in it. The teriyaki chicken is also the blandest tarting teriyaki anything I’ve ever had. Both times I’ve been there, there has been maybe one table of people eating. Definitely much better options elsewhere at a much more affordable price. If you’re going to pay for “premium” then you may as well go to a REAL premium spot. AVOID!
