The Story

About This Place

The Barista occupies a converted house on a quiet residential lane in An Phú, setting itself apart from the glass-and-concrete cafes along Thao Dien's busier corridors. A small Koi pond anchors the outdoor seating area, providing a focal point that slows the pace of a typical coffee stop.

The coffee program is taken seriously: espresso shots are pulled with care, and latte foam work draws repeat visits from residents who treat it as a neighborhood anchor. The croiffle—a croissant-waffle hybrid—pairs well with the house white coffee and has become a consistent order across reviews. Pastries are available throughout the day, while a short breakfast menu runs from 7 to 10am for early arrivals.

Seating divides between an open-air zone shaded by dense greenery and a smaller indoor section with air conditioning—a practical split when midday heat pushes in. The layout suits solo visitors with laptops or small groups of two or three; larger parties may find it tight. A dedicated children's playroom and a pet-welcome policy make it one of the more family-accommodating spots in the neighborhood, without leaning into either identity at the expense of the other.

Pricing sits at the upper end of what the residential surroundings might suggest, though broadly in line with Thao Dien's cafe market. Milk alternatives are not currently offered—cow's milk only—worth noting for those with a preference for oat or soy. Staff are consistently described as attentive and warm across reviews.

The 6am opening makes it one of the earlier starts in the area, drawing expat residents for morning work sessions, parents with young children, and coffee-focused visitors looking for something quieter than the high-traffic venues further along Nguyễn Văn Hưởng.

Beautifully pulled espresso shot and foam work. Their croiffle (croissant waffle) was also excellent. My only recommendation would be to add options for non-milk such as oat and soy (currently they only offer cows milk).

The drinks were so fantastic that they set a high bar for everything else. A creamy coffee latte and a bright, refreshing peach tea were the perfect start. We haven't tried the food yet, but with drinks this good, we'll definitely be back in a few days to see if the rest of the menu lives up to the promise.

It's cafe in the residence area. They made a cafe in the large house. Their doecore was really nice and well designed. It's kinda small but comfortable. The atmosphere was really good and well considered. I got Americano to try the coffee itself. I think the quality is quite normal as this category of the shop. The price is a bit expensive as "Coffee", but also quite normal with this einvironment. If you want to take a rest beside of the tiny pond with Koi fish, then it's nice place to visit.
