Tried the new menu at Booeok and honestly… this place just feels like comfort in a bowl 🥢✨ 真的很好吃! Their Korean fish soup is the highlight this period, served piping hot, rich yet clean, and incredibly soothing. The kind of dish that warms you up instantly and makes you slow down to enjoy every spoon. Feel so homey... What I love most is how generous they are with the banchan a variety of small side dishes that keep the whole meal exciting, with different selection and flavors in every bite. Even the rice deserves a mention. It’s served simply, but you can tell the owner really takes the dining experience seriously. The addition of red dates gives a gentle, natural sweetness: subtle, comforting, and honest. Not with sugar or MSG, just thoughtful ingredients done right 🫡 On top of that, the staff and the boss are incredibly nice and welcoming, you can really feel the warmth not just in the food, but in the whole experience. If you’re looking for something hearty, comforting, and authentically Korean, Booeok’s new menu is definitely worth trying. Simple, satisfying, and quietly impressive. I have had many of my returns... always missing the food here..😇😇😇

Should be 3.5… The signature flounder seaweed soup is ok, not very stand out. Eat this soup with caution because of the fish bones. Was expecting the cockles bimbimbap to be half boiled blood cockles, but it was a different kind of cockles, fully cooked and mixed with the sauce, thus it was slightly chewy and the flavour of the sauce didn’t get through the cockle’s meat. The rice in a clay pot I feel is a little bit unnecessary, a normal bowl of rice with pipping hot soup should suffice. To me, the highlight of the meal are the ban chans, it’s yummy and refillable, it saved the whole meal because the main dishes are not so “wow” Place is clean and spacey, love the staff attitude also. 👍🏼 I will come and try other food again, hopefully it gets better.

I recently tried out this newly opened restaurant in Midtown, District 7, and overall, it was a pretty good experience. I ordered the seasoned cockle, and it was the highlight of my meal. The seasoning was just right—not too salty or overpowering, allowing the natural sweetness of the cockles to shine through. The grilled mackerel was okay, but nothing particularly special. Service was efficient, and the ambiance was clean and inviting. If you’re in the mood for decently priced Korean food in District 7, this place is worth a try. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!
