The Story

About This Place

The Coffee House on Nguyễn Văn Thương is one of the smaller footprints in a chain that usually goes bigger. Three floors divide the space with intention: the ground level is reserved for the barista counter and takeaway pickups, while the two upper floors are given over to seated guests only. The separation keeps things calmer than most branches, and regulars have noted it consistently as the quietest location in the chain — soft background music, measured lighting, no particular rush to turn tables.

The menu follows chain-standard Vietnamese café fare: iced coffee, milk tea, pastries, and seasonal specials, all available through the Coffee House app for loyalty points and easier ordering. What's missing relative to flagship stores are the lounge chairs and the open sprawl; tables here are closer together, and the floor area reads small once a weekend crowd fills in. That compression has generated complaints, particularly around the third floor, which staff sometimes keep closed during busy periods, and around air conditioning on the upper level during warm afternoons.

The evening hours redeem the upper floors somewhat — a nearby landmark illuminates after dark and the view from above reads better than the daytime footprint suggests. Timing a visit for a weekday evening, when occupancy drops and the windows come into their own, gives the location its clearest argument over nearby alternatives.

Pricing lands at the standard Coffee House rate, which some visitors consider a stretch for what the space offers. For those coming from Thao Dien across the bridge, it functions as a dependable, low-noise stop rather than a destination — consistent coffee, a working app, and a room that doesn't demand your attention.

Out of stock but still accept the order from Grab, then ask me to change the order because they can’t cancel it once the order is accepted.

This place has a smaller area than the other in the same franchise store, but the quality of food is maintained the same.

Not big coffee house compared to others in The Coffee House chainstores. 3 storeys but the ground floor is the bartender counter and waiting area for take away guests, left 2 storeys for drinkers only. Light and sound quite soft. Not too crowded.

The staff refuses to turn on the aircon on top floor, even tho there is not enough space for people to comfortably sit on the 1st floor. The 1st floor smells like gym changing room from people sweating. Parking guard is super nice.

coffee is as good as usual in The Coffee House shops! love their apps and staff friendly. But I found that this specific location in D1 street was less spacious and the tables are set in a way that feels "too much". this place also doesn't have lounge chairs as other Coffee House shops have.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Is The Coffee House D1 quiet compared to other branches?
Reviewers consistently call it 'the most quiet store of The Coffee House.' The ground floor handles takeaway only, leaving the upper two floors calmer and with softer music and lighting.
Is The Coffee House D1 a good spot for remote work?
The quieter-than-average atmosphere and seated-only upper floors make it workable, though tables are noted as 'too much' and close together. Weekday visits are more comfortable than weekends when crowds compress the limited space.
Does The Coffee House D1 have a view?
The upper floors overlook a nearby landmark that 'is very beautifully lit in the evening.' A weekday evening visit is when the view reads best, as daytime occupancy and occasional third-floor closures can limit access.
Is The Coffee House D1 good for groups?
Less so — the location has a smaller footprint than most chain branches, and the third floor is sometimes kept closed during busy periods. One reviewer noted the second floor was full while staff refused to open the third floor on a weekend.
