Tròn has been one of the most talked-about sushi spots in Saigon since the COVID period, especially for its salmon sashimi. After reopening, I decided to visit again to see if the quality still lived up to its reputation. Please note that they don’t accept reservation, and the line is usually pretty long (at least 30-60 minutes). I went on Thursday night around 7pm and it was 50 minutes wait For the experience, price-wise, it’s definitely on the premium side, comparable to higher-end sushi restaurants such as Hokkaido Sushi. However, I think the pricing is justified. Instead of offering an enormous menu, Tròn focuses on a smaller selection and executes it consistently well. The star of the restaurant is undoubtedly the salmon sashimi. I’ve visited multiple times, and it’s always been fresh, thick-cut, and consistently high quality. The other sashimi selections are also good, although I found that some items, such as the oysters and octopus, can vary depending on the day’s supply. On their best days they’re exceptionally fresh, while on others the texture can be a little softer than I’d prefer. Among the specialty rolls, the Mentaiko Salmon Roll is easily my favorite and something I’d recommend to every first-time visitor. The Spicy Salmon Roll is also very enjoyable, though I felt the quail egg made the overall flavor a little too rich. A bit more acidity or freshness would have balanced it even better. If you’re ordering several salmon dishes, I’d also recommend one of their mocktails. The refreshing flavors help cut through the richness of the fish and make the meal feel much more balanced. Beyond sashimi, the Unagi Don is another excellent choice, especially if you’re sharing the meal with someone and want a bit more variety. Overall, I can understand why this place has become so popular among young people in Saigon. The quality of the salmon is among the most consistent I’ve had, the menu is carefully curated, and while the prices aren’t cheap, I think they’re fair for what you get. It’s definitely a restaurant I’ll continue coming back to.

Reviews
Delicious food! Each dish was innovative and the flavours were unique. The atmosphere really gives a hip Japanese vibe with all the decor. Each server was attentive, kind, and professional. Will definitely come back.
The food was good but we had to wait almost two hours. We were able to get a number and go around while waiting. Wjen we returned, we got a table immediately. The front server was really nice and friendly. The food took some time to come out but it was so delicious. Towards the end of our meal, we had to wait some time to pay because the kitchen was busy. There was miscommunication within the staff because they were asking us if we wanted to order food. Overall, the food was good but services could improve.
The fresh food here is excellent! I especially loved the sashimi – it was perfect. The black pepper beef rice was also delicious, and I can't wait to try more dishes on my next visit. It was a shame they were out of alcohol when I went; I was hoping to try some ginger beer or sake with my seafood. While I enjoyed my meal, having no alcohol with all the seafood made me feel a little queasy, but thankfully I had a Coca-Cola. The restaurant itself isn't huge, but it's comfortable. It gets very busy, so I highly recommend booking a table in advance, as almost everyone had to wait.
Amazing japanese treat in a small alley. Was introduced by a friend who is a regular client so we did not wait much. Food was awesome, fresh &creative. Particularly liked the wall painting and very quiet athmosphere so we could talk a lot. Recommended place for sure. Would suggest to add sake choice for drink and a short dessert menu to complete the meal.
