YEN Sushi & SakePub - Japanese Fusion Cuisine - Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

After ordering, they let us know that 6 things out of 11 were not available anymore. We ate 3 small dishes (wakame, ..) . They were ok. Then we saw a mouse climbing on the wall and then we immediately asked for the bill. First they wanted to charge us for the rest, but we have refused to do so. We paid cash and have left. We regret this unfortunate experience.

Very nice decoration. The food of YEN or MyLife group always has good quality. Services are also good.

First time to this eatery. Situated at the corner of a busy junction in District 1 / Saigon Ward, the place enjoys high visibility. The external facade lures people to it. Upon entering, we found that it has a nice ambience. Service was ok until we were ushered to a table directly facing an AC blower. It blew cold and strong wind to one side of the table as well as to the table surface which would make any food served turn cold quickly. Noticing that, we requested for the staff to either turn it down or to direct the wind to another direction. One make staff took the remote control and did something but whatever he did didn’t help the situation. Hence, we sat on one side of the 4-seater table. At least we wouldn’t have the AC blowing directly at us. When the food was served, they looked well presented. However, the food was far below par. We ordered salmon sashimi and the wasabi given was miserable in quantity. So we asked for more wasabi. And they served additional miserable quantities. Why are you so stingy on the wasabi you serve? It was appalling. The soy sauce was definitely not Japanese grade. It tasted like a local Vietnamese soy sauce. We ordered chawanmushi. The steamed egg was bland and was apparent that dashi was missing. How could any chef in a Japanese kitchen ruin steamed egg? Atrocious. We left the establishment utterly disappointed. For your information, we went for seconds elsewhere as we simply couldn’t order more to complete our dinner at your eatery. We definitely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. Not locals, not foreign visitors to Saigon, not for gathering of friends and family, and not for couples (unless one would stand to not see his/her date ever again thereafter). There are many other better Japanese eateries elsewhere in Saigon / HCMC.

I recently dined at Yen Sushi, and the food was absolutely fantastic! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—definitely a treat for any sushi lover. However, I did find it a bit inconvenient that they only accept cash or bank transfers for payment. It would be great if they could accept card payments to make the experience even smoother. Overall, I highly recommend the food, but just be prepared with cash!

I really love this place. Waitresses are lovely. Foods are fresh and the atmosphere also great to sit and relax with my boyfriend. We had 2 bottle of Sake and we stayed late but the waitress still wait us until we go home. See you again next time. Sorry that I didn't take all the photos but I can guarantee their management is quiet impressive for me in Vietnam.
