VOTRI - Cabinet of Curiosities - Cocktail bar in Ho Chi Minh City

We had a really great start of our visit to Saigon!! We went straight to Votri after dinner, which was tricky to find ;) but definitely worth it. We enjoyed some amazing unique cocktails accompanied by some great stories from the bar men. Such a good find!

Positives: • Nice interior • Good selection of games to play Negatives: • The staff aren’t very professional and seem quite inexperienced (green) when it comes to hospitality. They can come across as a bit unfriendly. • Drinks were misdescribed / wrong labeling: • “Coke foam” but there was actually no foam. • “Tofu ice cream” but it was unavailable (not made for 1 week!). • Coconut water was added to the drink without any mention or warning. • When I pointed out the wrong labeling on the Coke foam and tofu ice cream, they completely ignored it and didn’t apologize. • The toilet was messy / not clean. • You can get better drinks and service at other bars during happy hour.

A cozy atmosphere, the staffs were attentive to customers, and the drink was made randomly by the bartender but taste delicious, will be back next times.

What a lovely hidden bar! My husband and I were trying to find an speakeasy bar with nice cocktails and this one was the best! We loved the cocktails and the atmosphere. The service was great, attentive and polite. Both presentation and taste of coctails were of high standards! We even played a Jenga game! So glad that we found it! Thank you!

Fantastic experience and delicious cocktails! Bảo was a skillful and conscientious mixologist, who made two unique cocktails based on my favourites: the old fashioned and boulevardier. Crafted with in-house infused liquors and bitters, it was a real treat and experience – made even better with genuine, authentic conversation. Hint: without spoiling the fun of finding this bar (because I struggle with locating non-street level establishments…), it is on the 2nd floor.
