Nice spot in an alley in HCMC and the food really does take me back to Japan! Reasonable prices also. Might’ve been because they are a new store so not many people are reviewing this place but it’s definitely worth trying out. Waiters are attentive and speak good English. I was a little deterred at first because I didn’t see anyone in the restaurant but the worry proved unnecessary.

the food is solid; price is very reasonable. the place is a bit small but still comfy. the sesame ice cream is very good!!

New opening! Highly recommend. Chef from Chiba . Hiya Yakko - fresh tofu with onion, ginger and fish flakes - 5/5! Katsu Curry - pork cutlet - crispy and juicy. Curry was mild- maybe offer some spice levels in the future. 5/5 Tonpei Yaki - creamy scrambled eggs, sliced pork, bed of cabbage / with Japanese mayonnaise and sweet yakisoba sauce- will order every time ! 5++/5 Soba w/Tempura - noodles had a nice chew, the soup a little sweet. 4.5/5 Octopus - nice appetizer. Crispy batter, tender inside - 5/5

Only opened up in the last year, and damn it was delicious. Chef has clearly spent his time studying culinary skills in Japan. Had a great Tonkatsu set with a side of complimentary Takoyaki. Definitely recommend a visit if you're staying in HMC.
