Mixed. Very big, very busy, staff are good and doing the best they can (but only 4 staff for a milty story cafe). Drinks were good and fruit was fresh. So what's wrong? It just feels dirty. Tables and chairs and garbage. How can you feel comfortable if the owners don't keep it clean?

KALITA KAFÉ - 24H - Coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City

A charming café that kept appearing on my social media, so I wanted to visit it. The paper birds are cute, although many of them are damaged. As for the place itself, I think they’re understaffed — the coffee took quite a long time, around 30 minutes. It’s also fairly dirty, however the bar-style seating area is especially nice and cozy.
Great services, High quality drink, spacious area inside. Highly recommend for students.
So crowded. This 24/7 cafe is popular among students, teens and young adults with their laptops. Operations is not so good, even with self service. I had my drink mistaken with someone else. No cleaning either as they're short of staff.
A quite sizable café with four floors, an extensive drink menu and a variety of seating options. Parking attendants are prompt and professional, and there is large parking space. The sticky rice with mango and coconut cream: definitely worth it. I had the tamarind drink with a few kinds of fruit in it. It is the first time that I’ve been served a drink in Vietnam which they DON’T add sugar to (this is a plus for me, although some people might find it rather tart). What really impressed me was that the amount of ice was adequate, but not excessive - and the amount of fruit they put in was easily three or four times more than what you would get at another place, which made it a very filling and tasty drink. I would definitely return for these two menu items. (The second time I went I ordered the olomg tea with custard apple; least 20% of the cup was fresh custard apple, and the taste of kumquat was clear and refreshing. And like the tamarind drink, it seems to be natural flavors with no sugar. I got the sticky rice with gelato, coconut cream, and variety of toppings. It was a feast for the eyes.) They’ve maximize their space with a variety of seating options for individuals or groups; fixed seating as well as some loose furniture. Men’s toilet is at the back on the ground floor; women’s toilet is at the back on the second floor. I went with my friends on a Sunday at 3 PM and all four floors were full. It was challenging to find a space for our group of five (although that was partly due to a few individuals who were on their own, but took up a space that was meant for four or five people). Mostly people 35 and under quietly working on their laptops, although on the ground floor, there were more who were talking. There seems to be a problem with water leaking from various places: we were in the back room on the ground floor, and there was water leaking under the bench that spread down through the center of the room. Also on the ground floor, right in the middle of where people need to walk to get to the toilet or rear seating area, there was a lot of water spreading out. (This became a potential hazard as someone had a power bar on the floor, connecting to their laptop, very near that water leakage.) The women’s bathroom is the same problem: water going from under the sink into both cubicles. They cleverly used dark colored tiles in the bathroom, so you don’t see how dirty it is, but the garbage cans (3) were all overflowing and all three trash cans were rusted; the soap dispenser spout is broken off. There were multiple tables with used cups on them. I never saw staff cleaning up as customers left; in fact, there were one or two tables which the customers had self-designated and filled with used cups to clear a table for use. It’s true that when I arrived at 3pm they were quite busy, but when we left around 5:30-6pm, there were far fewer prole - but all four staff were still busy in the drink preparation area (which also looked really messy). There was a cart at the back on the ground floor, and some customers put their used cups there. If that is what the café would like customers to do, they need to put the cart in a more visible and convenient place and put up signs tactfully suggesting this kind of behavior on the part of the customers. Nonetheless, the staff still need to clear that cart out regularly. On the ground floor beside that cart. There was a garbage can, and it too was overflowing. I wouldn’t recommend going there at the weekend because it’s just so busy, it can be difficult to find appropriate seating.
