BARTELS Sonatus - Sourdough Sandwiches, Coffee & Juicery - Brunch restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

First time here and everything was wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the sourdough — one of the best I’ve ever had. Beautifully presented, with lovely decor and attention to detail. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back! ❤️

Value, flavour and love are essential ingredients in these delicious sandwiches. Vegan options to satisfy everyone. Coffees are really nice and so are the juices. We were too full to indulge in pastries, but they looked great. Highly recommended.

It’s located right next to the Japanese Quarter, inside a shopping mall/business tower. A tip: don’t try to take any shortcuts to get there, just stick to the route on Google Maps, or you might end up walking all the way around the building like we did! Anyway, the place is fabulous and seems quite popular with expats. We had the açaí bowl, avocado toast, and Turkish poached eggs. The Turkish poached eggs were really delicious, especially with the yogurt sauce. The açaí bowl was also one of the best I’ve had. Overall, the food was excellent. My mixed juice was delicious as well; however, the coffee wasn’t that good. It’s a bit expensive by Vietnam standards, but definitely worth it for the quality of the food.

I recently visited BARTELS Sonatus - Sourdough Sandwiches, Coffee & Juicery and it quickly became one of my favorite brunch spots in District 1. Everything I tried was flavorful, well-balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The juices and coffee also pair really well with the food, making it a perfect place for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Overall, if you enjoy good sourdough and thoughtfully crafted sandwiches, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

Tried BARTELS at Sonatus Building and overall it’s a solid casual spot in the Japan Town area. The menu has a nice mix of Western comfort food and brunch-style options. Coffee is quite good and probably one of the stronger points here. The space itself is cozy and easy for a quick meet-up or casual meal. Service is generally fine but pricing is on the higher side compared to similar cafés nearby, so value may not fully match expectations. Overall, a convenient and comfortable place, but don’t expect anything particularly standout in terms of taste.
