Morico mPlaza Saigon - Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

If you are craving contemporary Japanese cuisine and a taste of something different in Ho Chi Minh City, check out Morico. I had a delicious meal and enjoyed the change of scenery.

I came here around 930pm and they said we had to put in our order soon because last order was 9:30pm. Great, i already knew what I wanted which was the kakigori (shaved snow ice cream) Closing time is 10pm btw. I came here because I liked the mango Kakigori served with kem tuoi(soft serve ice cream). So order was placed then staff came back to tell me that they didn’t have the kem tuoi. I’m pretty sure they turn off those soft serve machine that’s why they don’t have it. They offered to replace it with regular vanilla ice cream which I was disappointed but agreed anyway since I’m already there. Initially I asked them if the ice cream was replaced, how scoops would I get? Bc if you ordered the kakigori in the past you would know that it came w/a lot of soft serve. Anyway They said 2 scoops I said okay. When it came out, Tell me why the 2 scoop were different sizes…. I called them over to ask why it’s not a full 2 scoop and they said because this ice cream is more expensive 🫤. Like really? Is that employee decision or Morico itself gave that rule? If you’re gonna do that to the customer then better off not serving it at all so I can order something else. I even think two FULL SCOOPS would STILL be smaller than the amount that the original kem tuoi (soft serve) was given. It’s so ridiculous. It’s upsetting because i felt like I’m getting ripoff. The “more expensive” ice cream wasn’t even as good as the the soft serve. Even my partner agreed. I gave 2 stars bc the shave ice was still same quality as the other places minus the amount shown in the pic below. The one with soft serve was in Le loi location (better location) and the scoop ice cream was this mplaza location. You can be the judge of it. Food speaks for itself. Also the amount shown shows it all. Dont come to this location. Go to Le Loi location.

Right at the corner between mPlaza and JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon, Morico serves modern Japanese cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of dining dishes, desserts, and seasonal specialties, allowing guests to enjoy different flavors throughout the year. At lunchtime, they also provide reasonably priced lunch combos for those who would like to enjoy Japanese food at a more economical price point. The staff are friendly, professional, and well-trained in customer service.

Food - Great. Food Presentation - Great. Choice of Food - Good Selection of Veg and Non-Veg ... Good choice of Matcha Selection if you like matcha. Atmosphere - Good, although is quite a handful of diners but is not noisy. Staff - Friendly and Helpful. Food Serve Time - No need to wait long enough before your orders are arrived. Food Taste - Great.

One of my favourite places for lunch, both for business and with friends. This restaurant is located on the ground floor of an office building hence will normally be busy at noon time during weekday. Table reservation is recommended. A bit noisy at well. Food and drinks are no different from other restaurants of this same brand.
