Basilico - Italian restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

BASILICO REVIEW MAY 11 ( Resident 12 years ) 275K - ARANCINI BALLS - nice , light , sauce tasted more like a 1000 islands vs black garlic dip one but overall well balanced! 8/10 335K - INSALATA BASILICO: Grilled artichoke made it nice distraction, pesto / bulgar wheat big portion and super fresh. Mozzarella underwhelming, tastes cheap quality. Still, a solid 7.5/10 and worth its value 370K- AMATRICIANA PIZZA: Decent size, thick dough , light and full but for our taste, way too sweet (though tastes are personal). It’s the highly caramelized onion which made it loosing its expected taste and missing its appeal. 6.5/10 175K - AFFOGATO: Not the traditional liquid one but as in the picture, the chefs interpretation is super good. A bit too sweet the ice cream, but the combination leaves a very pleasant aftertaste! 8.5/10 Total : Overall service : 10/10 as in all JW HBT spots Food Quan and Qual : 7.6/10 - going to 8 Value Price for Marriot club membership: 9/10 GRAND TOTAL 8.75/10

We celebrated Mother’s Day at one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Saigon, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. The team went above and beyond by preparing a beautiful custom hand-drawn postcard for our family, which made the occasion feel even more special and personal. The service was exceptional as always—warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our visit. Even with an entirely vegetarian lunch, every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared. A memorable dining experience from start to finish, and we will absolutely be returning again.

A Hidden Gem in the JW Marriott Residence Tower After a long day of exploring, we were honestly too exhausted to venture out into the city for dinner. We decided to stay in and try the restaurant on the Residence Tower side of the Marriott Saigon, and I’m so glad we did. It turned out to be a highlight of our trip! The Highlights: * The Service: Our waitress was exceptional. She had impressive knowledge of their wine list & menu and recommended a fantastic glass that paired perfectly with the meal. * The Bread: They start you off with warm bread served with a delicious pesto. It was so flavorful on its own that we didn’t even touch the oil and vinegar. * The Appetizers: The shrimp with arancini was excellent, and the salad was incredibly fresh. * The Standout: The Cioppino (seafood soup) was easily my favorite. Interestingly, the flavor profile reminded us so much of a New Orleans gumbo. As former NOLA residents, it was a wonderful, unexpected trip down memory lane! A Small Note: The entrees were very tasty. Overall: We enjoyed everything from beginning to end. We actually wanted to go back for a second visit to try more of the menu, but our stay wasn't long enough. If you’re staying at the Marriott and feeling tired, don't hesitate to eat here—it’s far better than your typical "hotel food."

The food is absolutely fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed the steak, spaghetti, lasagna and my favorite was the tiramisu dessert which is a delicious must try! Additionally, the waiters were very nice and I was given a complimentary serving of macaroons!

Old but gold. I ate here since 2017. The thing I like is they use marble plates💕💕. My fav dish is Beetroot risotto served with sous vide whole lobster! Good price and tastes good!! The resto was very crowded whenever i came. I parked my car in the hotel basement.
