Morico Saigon Pearl - Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Morico Saigon Pearl – Disappointing visit due to unsafe electrical cords everywhere I visited the Saigon Pearl branch of Morico, a Japanese premium tea, coffee and dessert brand, and left feeling quite disappointed. From the moment I arrived, the first impression was off: the door handle got rusty and covered in dirty, old adhesive tape. After ordering our desserts and drinks, the uneasy feeling only grew. The entire space is filled with electrical cords and cables — hanging above our heads and sticking out near the corner tables. For a supposedly premium, high-end establishment, this kind of hazard is both unsafe and completely unacceptable. The matcha, tea and other drinks were decent, and the service was good. It’s a real shame that the neglected, hazardous interior can throw you off so much that it ruins the whole experience.

Morico at Saigon Pearl is one of those places that quietly wins you over—especially if you care about real matcha quality. Their matcha is genuinely excellent: rich, aromatic, and well-balanced, with that clean, slightly umami finish (not the overly sweet “green latte” taste you get in many cafés). Drinks and desserts feel carefully made—smooth texture, strong flavor, and not drowned in sugar. Food-wise, it’s a pleasant surprise too. The salads are fresh and satisfying, and the basic Japanese-inspired dishes are simple but done right—clean flavors, neat presentation, and perfect for a light meal. What makes the experience even better is the friendly staff. They’re welcoming, attentive, and quick to help, which makes the whole visit feel comfortable and easy from the moment you walk in. Overall, Morico Saigon Pearl is a great choice for high-quality matcha + light Japanese-inspired food, with genuinely warm service.

We were in the area and gave it a go. Wasn't busy so we were seated immediately. Food looked delicious in the menu and it did not disappoint when it arrived. All our food was cooked and prepared well, presentation was immaculate and we ate every last bite. Worth a visit 😊

This is one of the best restaurants at the Saigon Pearl and serves the community really well. A more homey and relaxed decor than some of the other Moricco's and the service is excellent and friendly. Very nice menu also but the food is not quote as delicious as other Morico outlets (eg M Plaza) for example the Maki rolls ...

Morico Saigon Pearl was one of my favorite places to eat but after the remodeling and what I believe is a new management the services declined. Today I went there for dinner and even so the place was empty I was waiting for the waiter to get my order but no luck. They were all behind the pillar chatting with the manager and no one paid attention to come pick up my order to the point I left the place and had to go for dinner on a near by restaurant. It is sad to see such a nice place which had so high reviews and great service in the past coming to this. I truly hope they pay more attention to their service and go back to be a great place to eat.
