A.M Phin & Pour - Coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City

📍 ᴀ.ᴍ ᴘʜɪɴ & ᴘᴏᴜʀ - I'm not often found around Thu Duc but there are a few cafes that I wanted to visit which A.M was one of. It's a very rustic open space with big open windows on both sides that let the breeze drift through. It feels alive in the best way: the rain dripping, wind, and soft music playing in the background. Many open-air cafés in Saigon allow smoking, but thankfully this one doesn’t What really stands out here is the energy. The team behind the bar is genuinely kind and attentive. I noticed photos of a doggy but unfortunately I didn't see any during my visit. Perhaps next time hehe.

There’s something about A.M that pulls me in whenever I’m in the mood for bạc xỉu. :’) There’s really nothing more to say about this place — it holds a special place in my heart. I have been with them since almost the beginning, back when An was still often behind the counter. Things have changed over time, but the quality and care in every cup remain just the same. No air-conditioning here, but you’ll know where to find me when the rain comes. :’)

A.M. Phin & Pour embraces the rustic simplicity of natural materials. Exposed cement walls pair beautifully with rough-hewn wooden tables and ceramic mugs, fostering a calming, minimalist ambience. While the gentle lighting might feel slightly subdued in the evenings, it adds to the cafe's cosy charm. Lush greenery surrounds the place, keeping the air pleasantly cool and fresh, except perhaps for the peak heat of midday. While the drinks might not be top-notch, they are satisfying enough. They even offer complimentary genmaicha infused water for a refreshing touch. And for a furry friend, you might encounter Mơ the white dog, who prefers good naps to greeting customers.

Very disappointing experience at this coffee shop today. It said online that they were open despite the Tet holiday, but when I arrived - as a traveller with luggage who had paid for a long taxi ride just to come here - I was refused entry and told they were closed. (Feb 19, around 1:30PM) (The employee also told me there was a convenience store nearby where I could sit, eat, and work, but I am at that store now, and it turns out that’s not true either!!!)

The coffee shop is cozy and welcoming. The coffee is rich and delicious, and the pastries are fresh. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxing, perfect for working or chatting with friends :)
