Mandulia - Chinese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

A friend who happens to be a chef brought us in for dumplings, and on the last day of a three week trip, this was the highlight meal by far. The dumplings were soooo good, as was the rest of the dishes. The eggs stewed with tomato sauce were recommended by the owners super cool young son and he nailed it. So tasty! This little cozy spot is run by a kind and welcoming family who made the meal even more special. We had a party of six and we were easily accommodated, but just know that Mandulia is also a perfect date spot for couples. We already can’t wait to go back!

It's a small and cute restaurant with modern design. We tried egg fried rice, mapo tofu, and kung pao chicken. All were delectable, flavourful, and good portion for sharing. Deffo going back to try other items on the menu

The food is ok, it’s northern Chinese food with a bit of Korean fusion. The mapo tofu is a bit too sweet for me, and the dumplings were either too salty or too bland, not well balanced. Despite all that I would probably come back again if I’m craving dumplings because it’s quite hard to find this style in this city. The atmosphere and service are good, no complaints there. Well decorated and feels a bit like eating in China.

We've eaten here twice at lunchtime. We liked it enough initially to visit again promptly and the second meal, enjoyed today, was even better than the first. Steamed Pork & Chive dumplings are excellent. The Mapo Tofu is a spicy delight. The Eggplant found it's way to our table on both visits and I have a feeling it will be there again on our third--seemed somehow different and better the second time. We happily accepted a second helping of the pickled daikon. Cucumber Salad and Fried Shrimp Dumplings left nothing to complain about. On our first visit we indulged in the Sticky Sweet Potato dessert and it was yummy. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful, which could also describe the gracious hostess. The menu is concise, which I welcome because I believe I'm more likely to get fresh dishes and ones that the restaurant truly excels at. Prices are reasonable. We're lucky to live within easy walking distance.
