Coco Thai - Thai restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

We were the only ones there, so maybe this is whatsup. The staff looks nice but they were busy talking to each other. The food wasn't very good, we were very much looking forward to eat thai. Maybe, if we had more time in the city, we would give it another shot. Maybe!

We came here as it was just around the corner from our hotel. We hadn’t made a booking and when we arrived weren’t greeted very well by the girl at the counter. My partner speaks vietnamese but she seemed over her job and didn’t really want to be there. The food and atmosphere were great but the service could do with some work.

The space is nice though, comfortable and clean. I ordered rice, papaya salad, and crispy fried squid with sauce. The food was okay, nothing special, just decent. The staff took quite a while to serve us, but I guess it’s understandable since it was the weekend and very busy. Overall, it was an okay experience. I’d give it a 7/10.

The restaurant is located in Paris Garden. We visited it on a Saturday night and found the area surprisingly quiet. The restaurant itself has a cool, floral-themed décor on the outside that creates a pleasant ambiance. The food was quite good - I especially loved the trứng lòng đào and gỏi xoài cá trê. All the dishes met my expectations. The drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, so you might want to ask for a less sweet version. Service was excellent overall. Although they forgot the sauce for my pork rib soup, they apologized sincerely, which I appreciated. I think this could be a great spot for casual gatherings with friends or family.

This was disappointing. The staff were OK, but not exactly friendly. I was really looking forward to a Thai curry but they only had a green curry tucked at the end of the menu. I was told that it was not available. So I ordered fishcakes (which were nice) followed by pork skewers and sticky rice. There was satay sauce but only enough for the pork. So the rice was just a load of gloop. I finished and waited for somebody to offer a dessert but nothing came so I paid and left. Not even a prawn cracker in sight. Nice place but let down by menu and staff.
