The complex synthesizes handcrafted items such as clothes, jewelry, leather goods, souvenirs... The atmosphere in the area is quiet, I am pretty impressed with the big "old tree" in the middle of the yard. The decoration and arrangement of the restaurants are also quite eye-catching. The lights are enough to see, so if you want to take pictures at night, it's a bit difficult :D

Green Around the Corner - Cafe in Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Green Around the Corner occupies a converted space on Trần Ngọc Diện where a large old tree grounds an open yard that shapes the atmosphere before anyone reaches the counter. The setup functions as two things simultaneously — a cafe serving a focused menu of vegan platters, open sandwiches, and smoothie bowls, and a zero-waste retail shop stocking bamboo straws, coconut bowls, wooden spoons, and curated labels including Linda Mai Phung clothing and Reborn. The combination is coherent rather than gimmicky: the food, the products, and the physical space all point in the same direction.
The menu runs deliberately short. What exists is well-made — smoothie bowls and coconut coffee draw consistent praise, and the vegan platters show attention to flavor balance and texture rather than simply ticking a dietary box. The open sandwiches follow the same logic: careful, not elaborate.
Owner Su is a visible presence, explaining sustainable products in detail and engaging with guests in a way that makes the retail half feel like a curated recommendation rather than a shop floor. That personal investment shapes the pace of the whole space: morning visitors stay through the afternoon, solo workers settle in for hours, and the venue has hosted workshops. The crowd skews toward expats and environmentally minded locals who prioritize intention over novelty.
What separates this from the denser stretch of cafes elsewhere in Thao Dien is that nothing feels incidental. The yard, the old tree, the bamboo stock, the menu — each detail reinforces the same idea. For a neighborhood that often optimizes for aesthetics alone, the consistency here is its own distinction.
