we just ordered egg coffees but they were presented so nicely, and the owner was super friendly! he moved his cat near us so we could pat him, which was the highlight of our visit

On our weeklong stay in HoChiMinh, we came to this cafe twice. Each visit, we got to mingle with different cats and try delicious food and drinks. I'd recommend the dry noodles and any coffee with egg/salt/cheese foam! Such a nice respite from the bustling city.

Hoi Beo is a kind of relaxed cafe, perfect for anyone who needs a quiet spot to hide away, study, or just chill out. I have not been inside, but from the outside, it looks quite dark and a bit cramped. They do have a small outdoor area, but there are not many seats. Behind the seating area is a garden bed that seems to be the cats' favourite toilet, so sometimes you might notice a slightly unpleasant smell. On the plus side, the cafe is surrounded by trees and tucked away at the end of a narrow alley, so it is very peaceful. The cats are a bit shy and do not like to be bothered. The cafe is called Hoi Beo (which means "slightly fat"), and it seems to live up to its name as even the cats are quite chunky. LOL. The drinks are just okay. A cup of milk tea costs VND 45.000, but it does not come with any pearls or other toppings, which makes it a bit pricey compared to other places.

I found this café on Google Maps because of its high ratings and decided to visit. It’s located in a back alley. There was a bit of a sewage smell in the open garden area, but they also have indoor seating, which might be better. I mentioned I wanted coffee and ordered a cold brew. What I got was a tasteless cold brown drink, which, as a coffee enthusiast, I can confidently say did not contain any coffee. It was also served a bit late. The staff was very polite and listened to me carefully. The Wi-Fi service was fast. Would I go again? Definitely not.
