We had a delicious meal here yesterday. Staff were amazing, food was incredible and the atmosphere was really cosy. Really glad we stumbled on this little gem.

KOHA Kitchen Vietnamese Cuisine - Vietnamese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
KOHA Kitchen sits on a quiet stretch of Thái Ly in Thảo Điền, offering a menu anchored in Vietnamese staples at prices that feel out of step with the neighborhood's general trajectory. The spring rolls alone come in eight variations — shrimp (the clear bestseller), beef, clam, salmon and cheese, banana, crab, chicken, and vegetable — each served in portions of five, fried to a consistent crisp. Paired with rice vermicelli, they form the backbone of the lunch crowd's orders, with the shrimp and grilled pork vermicelli bowls appearing repeatedly across tables.
The bo kho arrives aromatic and tender, a slow-cooked beef stew with the kind of depth that takes time to build. Stir-fried beef pho rounds out the heartier options. The avocado smoothies have developed their own following — thick, creamy, and substantial enough to function as a meal supplement. Gluten-free options run across a meaningful portion of the menu.
Seating splits between an air-conditioned interior and an outdoor garden area. On cooler evenings the AC stays off and the garden fills up with a crowd that skews young and international — expats who have built the kitchen into their weekly routine alongside tourists on a first visit. Card payment is accepted, which smooths the lunch rush. Portions are generous, a fact the 3-star reviewer learned the hard way.
What separates KOHA Kitchen from the broader Thảo Điền dining scene is consistency at a price point that undercuts most of its neighbors. Staff are attentive and quick; Kev, who manages front of house, is a familiar face to the regulars. The kitchen runs daily until 10:30 PM, making it one of the later-closing Vietnamese options in the area.

I come here religiously a few times a week. This is by far the best Vietnamese food you’ll find. It’s so fresh, so delicious and they have literally everything you can think of. You’ll never find this price to quality ratio in Thao Dien. Here’s proof of how good their meals are - my plate is always empty 3 minutes later.
Very tasty food for really good price, friendly staff Highly recommend! 10/10
Decent restaurant for local food in this area. They are open relatively late. Nice garden restaurant. Lot‘s of young people - locals as well as tourists. The food was ok. Nothing special. Service was nice. Although I would have liked if they told me that I over ordered. Potions are quite generous. But I was hungry. All good.
