Came 12/24/2025 8PM Xmas Eve. Staff got order wrong twice. 2nd time, waiter didn't bother bringing back to kitchen. He left the food at our table, despite my request to remove it. 45 mins, main course never arrived. I asked to speaker to the manager, Tâm. She was attentive at first, but then both her and the staff disappeared and never checked in again. We did noticed they give preferential attention to foreigners and completely ignored Vietnamese residents. Unacceptable behavior for a restaurant of this size to behave that way. My food never arrived. Eventually asked the staff to cancel our remaining orders. Overall, incompetent staff and manager ruined our Xmas Eve dinner. We are never coming back, and will warn all of our friends to stay away from a place with such disappointing low-class service and a manager that couldn't be bothered.

Kohaku Sashimi & Yakiniku - Yakiniku restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Kohaku Sashimi & Yakiniku occupies a compact unit inside Vincom Center Landmark on Điện Biên Phủ, anchoring the Landmark 81 precinct with a dual-format menu that spans tabletop yakiniku and a full sashimi-and-sushi lineup. Premium Kobe and wagyu beef cuts headline the BBQ side, arriving well-marinated and portioned generously; the kitchen supplements sets with a complimentary vegetable plate and dessert, details that repeat visitors tend to flag. The aburi selection draws its own following — fresh fish, precisely seasoned rice, and a clean preparation that holds up against dedicated sushi venues.
At 4.8 stars across more than 1,200 Google reviews, the kitchen's consistency is the clearest argument for a visit. Sapporo draft beer leans the experience toward an izakaya register, and the menu's breadth — from small bites to multi-person beef sets — accommodates both leisurely weekend lunches and tighter weekday dinners. The room itself is on the smaller side, as mall footprints go, but the layout keeps it from feeling impersonal, and individual staff members have earned name-mentions in reviews for proactive service.
Service quality has shown some variance on busy evenings — Christmas Eve reviews flagged slow mains and inconsistent follow-through — so large groups during peak hours should factor that in. The venue pulls a mixed crowd of expats and tourists based in the Landmark area alongside local diners treating it as a reliable midweek option. The kitchen opens at 11 AM daily (10 AM on Sundays) and runs to 10 PM, giving it useful flexibility for early dinners.
For Binh Thanh, Kohaku represents one of the more complete Japanese BBQ propositions in the district — a beef-forward menu with a sushi counter that functions as more than an afterthought.
Reviews
The food was amazing. The best wague that i have ever tried. Tien Dung was very welcoming and he prepared a nice meal for us
Food is ok, but the service is absolutely rubbish, they only serve westerner like 7 staff to 1 table, and we waited for almost 45min abd not getting all the order. Asking for a spoon required 10min of waiting time too. Stupid service and staff.. Asking fir something need to ask again and again, some staff just ignoring
i’m honestly so obsessed with this place 🥹💖. the menu is huge, from small bites to big sets, everything feels carefully made and full of love 💕. the space isn’t too big since it’s inside a mall, but it’s super cozy and comfortable - you can really enjoy your meal without feeling crowded 🫶. the staff were so sweet and attentive, always making sure everything was perfect 🥰. the food is super fresh, flavorful, and just melts in your mouth, portions are generous too. totally worth the price, definitely a spot i’ll be coming back to 🐟💛🔥!!!
Really good service, staff was friendly and attentive. The food was okay, overall, a pleasant experience!
