Philippines BBQ & Drinks - Filipino restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Philippines BBQ & Drinks occupies an open-air space in Thao Dien where charcoal smoke and the smell of marinated meat set the tone before the food arrives. The setup is unpretentious: outdoor seating with fans, street parking nearby, and enough room to accommodate a large group without feeling like the tables were squeezed in as an afterthought. On warm Saigon evenings the place draws Filipino expats, curious locals, and anyone who has grown tired of the neighborhood's more polished Western-leaning cafés.
The menu centers on Filipino BBQ staples with a few cold-weather comfort dishes rounding things out. Skewers — pork belly, pork shoulder, chicken — are sold per stick, something first-timers occasionally discover mid-order, though the pricing makes it easy to keep going. The kitchen also sends out pork sisig with its characteristic savory richness, pork sinigang in a sour tamarind broth, longanisa sausages, and grilled calamari. Portions are explicitly sized for sharing — two to three people per dish — and reviewers regularly note they could not finish their share alone. Against the neighborhood benchmark for comparable protein-heavy mains, the pricing sits noticeably lower.
The atmosphere has a backyard quality: conversational volume, unhurried pacing, friendly staff who stay attentive without hovering. Dishes arrive quickly even when the room is full. The open-air format is a genuine asset for BBQ smoke ventilation, though mosquitoes are a minor reality after dark, as at any outdoor Saigon venue. A resident cat, apparently well-fed and noted with affection in multiple reviews, adds to the casual character of the place.
For Thao Dien — a neighborhood dominated by brunch spots, specialty coffee, and upscale European restaurants — a Filipino BBQ restaurant that prioritizes generous portions and communal eating fills a gap that very few venues in the area address.

Reviews
This place is a gem of Saigon for sure! I’ve tried the pork belly, pork shoulder skewers and the chicken and everything is absolutely incredible. It’s marinated, flavored and cooked to perfection. Definitely come and support this business ❤️
Met up here with a large group of friends and it turned out to be the perfect location for chilling out. Wide variety of Filipino style food which was both interesting and tasty. Recommend the Pork intestines and also the Calamari. Service was quick and attentive with the server always being around to cater to our needs. Finally, the atmosphere was cool, outside and with plenty of space to talk loud and have fun Thanks and will come back
Open air, well ventilated bbq. Food is authentic and delicious. Good value on top. Team is friendly and food is reasonably fast. Portions are decent. Bbq is per stick this is only obvious after you get first order. Really enjoyed Would return when fancying Philippines foods.
My first time trying Filippino food and I was not disappointed. From a friend's recommendation, we ordered pork sisig, pork sinigang, and longanisa, all were flavorful and nicely cooked. The portion was really big honestly. I couldn't finish my part and had to ask for my friend's help. Seatings are outdoor, with fans, watch out for the mosquitoes cuz they do bite. Service was good. Cat is fat and cute. Will come back for more.
