Home delivery review. It's fast food, so expectations need to be tempered. However, to break down: The salad had way too much mayonnaise, but tasted quite fresh. The fish bites were really good, with a very light batter that, when combined with the barbecue sauce, provided a great contrast and savoury undertones. The cajun fries were crisp and not greasy or overcooked. The chicken was crisp, a little overcooked (so not juicy), but had a good overall flavour. The chicken burgers were small, but had a nice underlying taste with the lettuce and tomato adding an extra dimension, although were, again, heavy on the mayonnaise. The white rice was cooked, but bland (as expected). The spaghetti was not pleasant, no real taste and little flavour to it it, with very cheap hotdog pieces. It's ok, but even KFC has the nod ahead of this place, and that's already a pretty low bar.

Popeyes Chicken Thao Dien - Chicken restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Popeyes Chicken Thao Dien occupies 20 Thảo Điền, sharing a floor with Burger King in one of the neighborhood's more practical dining setups. The Louisiana-inspired chain draws families, expats, and locals looking for a fried chicken fix — and tends to run quieter and cleaner than rival KFC locations nearby, with kids' chairs available.
The 69,000 VND combo — rice, soup, cabbage, a chicken piece, and a drink with free refill — stands out as one of the more complete value meals in the area. Fish bites with a light batter and barbecue sauce have earned consistent praise across reviews, and cajun fries hold up well when fresh. Ice cream is on the menu for a post-meal option.
Service has generated some of the venue's strongest feedback. One customer left a document behind and had no contact information on file; staff traced them down weeks later through a third-party shop, a level of follow-through rarely seen in fast food. Store manager Linh Nhâm was specifically credited. That said, output varies by shift — reviews flag dry chicken, cold popcorn chicken, and occasional soggy fries, suggesting consistency is not a given. The menu uses photos but limited English labeling, which can slow ordering for first-time visitors.
At 4.2 from over 1,400 ratings, Popeyes Thao Dien functions best as a dependable, affordable lunch stop rather than a destination worth a detour. For a sit-down meal under 100k with free drink refills, it competes well with the surrounding fast food options on that stretch of Thảo Điền.

Reviews
Went for lunch on a weekday. The staff are friendly. The menu has pictures and no English translation. I ordered the set with a sandwich, a piece of chicken, and popcorn chicken. The sandwich was mediocre. The fillet was half the size of the bun and half as thin as the bottom bun. The bun was stale. The popcorn chicken was cold, but the batter was crispy, and it was a decent size portion. The piece of chicken was large, with a nice crust and plenty of meat, but it was dry. I added the meat to fill up the sandwich. It was my first Popeyes experience, probably won't return. Paid with a card.
Food taste okay, but it depends on the mood of the shop. Sometimes it good, sometimes they gave me soggy fries. The staffs looked and sounded absolutely soulless, but can't blamed for their minimum wage. Overall, if you want fried chicken just eat something else around instead of Popeyes
Wings taste like they were a day old, and fries were terrible. Cant imagine a fast food chain that cant get the basics right. The wait time is ridiculous, i actually had to nag the staff just to get them to start preparing my order. Overall, do not recommend this branch.
Well, it’s a shared space with Burger King. The fried chickens are juicy and nice with standard.
