The small but professional looking shopfront, hides a great real coffee enthusiast's dream shop inside, with every kind of coffee taste catered for. The shop area, looks very clean and welcoming, with an extensive menu from a quick coffee on the run, to more time consuming and elaborate coffee experience. The homemade cake and pastries also displayed, only encouraged the opportunity to spend more time to enjoy the kind coffee break, you most certainly deserve. There was interestingly displayed on a large video screen, a video showing exactly how the cakes were homemade. The coffee preparation area is quite extensive, and the staff were clearly knowledgeable and enjoying their work. This kind of shop is well appreciated by true coffee lovers, with local and overseas coffees available, exactly how you wish them to be served, or with coffee beans to take home, to do your own thing. My only regret is that i was only visiting the area for a short time, but look forward to including a special coffee moment, upon my return. Highly Recommended.

Despite its popularity, the space feels disappointingly small and uncomfortably noisy. It lacks the openness and atmosphere one would hope for in a coffee spot — no view, no fresh air, and little sense of relaxation. The restroom facilities are also quite limited for the number of guests. Overall, it is difficult to find much appeal in staying for coffee here.

I’ve been a regular customer at Thai Yen for 5 years and they have really nice coffee in Saigon, cozy space and very unique tastes of coffee. I usually have Solar Latte and my boyfriend prefers Sapa. Their selections of pastries, cheesecakes and tiramisu are amazing too. I always recommend my friends to go here at least once!

The cheese cake was very good. The pastries were fine. Coffee can be improved on. I suspect the barista b/c they obviously have good grains and a good machine (La Marzocco), so it's got to be Zébédé. I'll try again soon.

I've been coming to Thaiyen Cafe quite a few times now and honestly it's become one of my favourite spots in the city. A big reason for that is the staff. Minh Huy, Quoc Tuan, and Hoang Dung are just genuinely warm people. They made me feel so comfortable every single visit, and I really appreciated how they took the time to walk me through the drinks and help me figure out what I wanted. Nothing ever felt rushed. The coffee is really good too. I've tried their expresso blends, phin optons and also the cold brew and all offer a unique satisfying taste. And none of them are overly sweet which is perfect. The whole vibe of the place is cozy and very local, which I love. If you're around District 1, definitely drop by. And don't be shy to ask the wonderful staff for recommendations :) And if you're the owner of this place reading this, please give your staff a raise, they are amazing! :)
