Đệ Nhất Cơm Canh Thịt Lợn chiếm một góc riêng trong bức tranh ẩm thực Thao Dien: đồ ăn Việt bình dân, chân thật, với mức giá chẳng liên quan gì đến những nhà hàng phục vụ khách Tây trong khu. Thực đơn xoay quanh ba món chính — gà nướng, xôi ống tre và bánh bao chiên — và hầu như mọi phần gọi đều là sự kết hợp nào đó của ba thứ đó.
Xôi ống tre là điểm đáng chú ý nhất. Nếp thấm hương lá dứa, hấp trong ống tre tươi, mang ra vẫn còn thơm ngát và hơi cháy cạnh — một cách chế biến quen thuộc ở vùng cao hơn là trên con hẻm đô thị Thủ Đức. Ăn kèm nửa con hay nguyên con gà nướng — da giòn rụm mà thịt không bị khô — là đã thành một bữa trọn vẹn. Bánh bao chiên — năm hay mười cái tùy combo — thêm vào độ giòn: lớp vỏ mỏng tan rụm nhường chỗ cho phần nhân thịt mềm bên trong.
Các combo được thiết kế thực tế và rộng rãi. Combo hai gà kèm xôi và bánh đủ cho bốn đến sáu người mà không cần gọi lằng nhằng. Một chai nước chấm của quán — vị ớt đậm, cân bằng bằng đường — gắn kết cả mâm, và có thể gọi thêm riêng nếu muốn.
Giờ phục vụ chia hai ca (10 giờ đến 14 giờ, 16 giờ đến 21 giờ 30) theo nhịp quen của quán Việt truyền thống, và thực khách cũng phản ánh điều đó: gia đình địa phương vào buổi trưa, bàn đa dạng hơn vào buổi tối. Cơm Canh Lòng Thịt was hearty and comforting. The broth was rich, slightly milky. The pork and intestines were clean, tender, and not overly chewy. Mì Lạnh Trộn Cay was a great contrast. Refreshing, chewy noodles coated in a spicy, tangy sauce. It was flavorful without being overwhelming, and the fresh toppings added a nice crunch. Overall, great flavors, generous portions, and a casual, comfortable vibe. I’d definitely come back to try more dishes. Highly recommend if you’re in Thảo Điền.
I will add a review later, but this place is superb, thanks in large part to the owners, who are always there greeting customers so politely. I lived in Japan and ate out frequently, so I can tell you that their hospitality and dedication are unparalleled - rarely seen!
Very friendly manager/owner. Food arrived quickly. Big portions and reasonable prices. I would say it’s up to personal taste for the pork soups, but the steamed dumplings were absolutely amazing and I would definitely come back just for those!
Great place; they nailed the meats and the intestines. The side dishes are excellent, especially the Kimchi. The broth is light, but to my taste, it feels bland. I understand they keep it low season by design so diners can add their own seasonings. However, because of that, the broth lacks a hearty or rich flavor (this is, of course, highly subjective based on my experience). For 200,000 VND, I think they did a great job. I highly recommend the place, and I definitely see myself returning.
