Considering its location right in the heart of District 1, I think this sushi restaurant offers pretty good value. Before visiting, there are a few things worth knowing. The restaurant is on the 7th floor, so you’ll either need to climb the stairs or pay a small elevator fee (around 3,000–5,000 VND). Going back down is free. It’s also a popular spot, so I’d recommend reserving a table in advance, especially during dinner hours. One downside for me is the dining environment. Although there is air conditioning, it’s kept fairly weak, and the restaurant is still quite open, relying mostly on natural airflow and fans. During the summer, it can get uncomfortably warm, which isn’t ideal when you’re eating fresh seafood. As for the food, it’s a solid choice if you’re dining with friends. The menu is extensive, portions are fair, and most dishes are enjoyable for the price. The standout for me was the large salmon sashimi bowl—the fish was fresh, the portion was generous, and it offered excellent value. The signature mango sushi roll was another pleasant surprise, adding a refreshing twist that worked well. We also tried several other rolls, and most of them were well executed. The only dish I wouldn’t order again was the fried tuna roll, which was noticeably dry. Also the oysters, not really fresh comparing to the price, you can get way better quality with almost same price at Hokkaido sushi. I’ve eaten at many sushi restaurants, and I usually judge higher-end places by the quality of their fish. For more affordable restaurants like this, I look for creativity and good value instead, and this place does a respectable job of both. Overall, it’s a convenient spot for meeting friends in central District 1 and enjoying reasonably priced sushi. If atmosphere and temperature are important to you—especially when eating sashimi—you may find better options elsewhere, but for the location and price, this restaurant is definitely worth considering.

Excellent and fresh Japanese food served here. Lots of young people coming by for drinks also. We had the salmon bowl (30 pieces) for half price on Tuesday nights. This was one of the best deals I've ever come across. The sushi was also very delicious. Prices were very reasonable and the staff were super lovely and accommodating. Would definitely return.

Michi Sushi at The Cafe Apartment is a cozy hidden gem with fresh, delicious sushi and a charming atmosphere. It offers a relaxing dining experience with a lovely balcony view overlooking Nguyen Hue Walking Street. The sushi is beautifully presented, reasonably priced, and the staff are warm and attentive. It’s a great spot for enjoying quality Japanese food in one of Saigon’s most unique buildings.**

Food was great! I ordered the sashimi, which was fresh and really satisfying, while my husband chose a rice meal that he also enjoyed. The flavors were spot on and the portions were just right for a relaxed meal. There was a slight smell inside the restaurant when we first arrived, so we decided to sit outside on their balcony instead. In the end, that turned out to be a great choice. The balcony seating was much more pleasant, with fresh air and a more relaxing atmosphere, which made the whole dining experience even better. Overall, we had a lovely time and enjoyed both the food and the setting.
