Rico Taco - Mexican restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Went here for the first time recently. The layout of the restaurant is a bit tight so it’s not such a quiet place. The service was very fast even on a Saturday night. There’s motorbike parking in the alley which is convenient but not free. The prices seemed reasonable for a place in the tourist district and the food was delicious. The dishes are light and fresh. The menu is pretty limited which can either be a good thing or bad depending on your perspective. We ordered a quesadilla, quinoa salad, and two sets of tacos. Plus two soda drinks and the bill was around 750,000 VND.

This is a patio Mexican restaurant. Service is very slow you must wave someone down for drinks or service. The food was good not TexMex but more like what you might find in SanDiego,USA Mexican food. The frozen margaritas are hit or miss the first one was good the second one only taste like frozen lime no alcohol or flavor. It could be much better food and drinks but a great find for Saigon. It satisfies the craving for Mexican food.

This is my third visit, and the food is consistently amazing! The flavors are unique and absolutely delicious. It’s a perfect place for anyone focusing on a healthy or low-fat diet, with plenty of low-carb, high-protein options like salads and tacos. Most importantly, Food tastes really good! The atmosphere and interior design are also great. Whether you’re dining alone or gathering with friends, this is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal.

Rico Taco is a visually nice place. I felt at home for a moment. I ordered enchiladas with a horchata, and overall I enjoyed it. The enchiladas were served hot, filled with what tasted like chicken tinga (chicken with tomato), and topped with delicious melted cheese. The toppings are not exactly traditional (more on the Tex-Mex side), but I still liked them and the spice level was good. The horchata tasted fresh and natural, which I appreciated. The only downside is that my cup was almost half full of ice, which honestly felt a bit like a rip-off (I leave the pic). The service was friendly, but a bit inconsistent. After ordering, I waited more than 20 minutes for my food even though it wasn’t very busy. What stood out to me is that a group of local customers arrived after me, ordered several items, and were served before me. I don’t think there should be any difference in priority, so that part felt a bit unfair. That said, the prices are reasonable for the quality and overall experience, and the food is well executed, so I would come back.

Nice place, foods are ok for it’s prices. Located at the city center, inside very famouse F&B alley, the most impressive is the hospitality of people in the area, even from the parking lot. Good for you to take some Mexican bite!
