Unagi Yosakura - Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I now understand why they chose to focus on just two main dishes: Wagyu and Unagi. They truly pay attention to the smallest details and make sure everything on our set is prepared to the highest standard. What’s more, they gave me recommendations based on my preferences, and there are three different ways to enjoy the meal that are definitely worth trying. These thoughtful little details made me very satisfied, and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Had a chance to try both the eel bowl and beef bowl at Unagi Yosakura! The atmosphere is really peaceful, though the tables are a bit on the smaller side. But the food and service completely made up for it! The eel was incredible—super tender and delicious. Little tip: definitely order it with the egg topping and eat it with their dashi broth—it's super tasty and elevates the whole meal! On top of that, the staff was extremely attentive and thoughtful throughout our dinner. My only slight regret is that they open a bit late at 5:00 PM, so you can't drop by for lunch. Still, highly recommended and I'll definitely be back for the eel 😋

We decided to celebrate here a very special ocasion and it was a great decision!! Even the food was incredible and amazing, the best was the atmospehere and the workers we met there. If there is one thing I appreciate about a restaurant, it is when they focus on doing a few things exceptionally well instead of trying to offer everything. That is exactly what Unagi Yosakura does. The menu is refreshingly simple with only three main choices: Wagyu Don, Unagi Don, or the ultimate combination of Wagyu and Unagi Don. When a restaurant keeps its menu this focused, it usually means they are confident in what they do best. During our visit, we ordered the Wagyu Don and the Wagyu Unagi Don, and both dishes were outstanding. The Wagyu was undoubtedly the star of the meal. Perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavour, every bite simply melted in the mouth. The quality of the beef was evident from the very first bite and left a lasting impression. The Wagyu Unagi Don was equally enjoyable. The rich and buttery Wagyu paired surprisingly well with the sweet and smoky unagi, creating a combination that felt indulgent yet balanced. It is the perfect choice for anyone who cannot decide between the two. What I loved most was the restaurant's confidence in keeping things simple. There are no distractions, no overly complicated menu, just quality ingredients executed exceptionally well. The food looked every bit as good as it tasted. In fact, I think the photos tell the story better than words ever could. If you are a Wagyu lover, Unagi lover, or both, Unagi Yosakura is definitely worth visiting. Simple menu, specialised concept, excellent execution, and absolutely delicious food.

The food is good and up to the standard. The place is quiet and cozy. I just wish there are some more extra side dish to make my 1.2M more than worth it, an extra 2 sushi rolls could go a mile or maybe just small salad. But the place was hot. My sweat was dripping while I eat. They only increased the airconditioner when i was done eating.
