Yakuzen serves generally decent food made with good-quality ingredients. However, the menu lacks creativity, and the dishes are presented very simply, without much refinement or sophistication. The service needs considerable improvement. Staff sometimes begin speaking to customers from behind instead of approaching from the front, establishing eye contact and politely starting the conversation. They also stand uncomfortably close while speaking, which can feel intrusive and disrespectful of personal space. Proper hospitality training would make the experience much more professional and welcoming. The toilet was also not clean enough. Although the Japanese branding may attract customers, the menu does not clearly explain what makes the restaurant “healthy”—whether this refers to its ingredients, nutritional balance, cooking methods or the traditional Japanese yakuzen philosophy. Overall, ingredient quality is the restaurant’s strongest point, but it needs more innovative dishes, more refined presentation, cleaner facilities, better-trained staff and a much clearer explanation of its healthy dining concept.

A wonderful Japanese dining experience and one we’ll definitely return to before leaving Vietnam. From the moment you enter, the bamboo, koi pond, and beautifully simple décor create a peaceful, Zen-like atmosphere. The restaurant is spotless, elegant, and relaxing. The sashimi was incredibly fresh! The salmon and tuna practically melted in our mouths. We also enjoyed the seaweed salad, a delicious cooked dish, and a specialty roll we hadn’t seen back home. Every bite was beautifully prepared, and even the sake was excellent. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine in Ho Chi Minh City with a tranquil ambiance, this is a place not to miss.

A must-try restaurant if you’re craving for Japanese dishes. The staff are super warm and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. They also have private rooms, so it’s a great spot if you’re dining with a group or celebrating something special.

This is one of the most beautiful and delicate desserts I have ever tasted! Mizu shingen mochi is such a work of art, as is the Tamago roll. The classic miso soup is also excellent.
