Benaras Rasa - Indian restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Reasonably tasty Indian food in a upscale environment. Good value considering the location and service was friendly and helpful. The lamb biryani was a standout. Richly flavoured chunks of mutton and the basmati rice was of a good quality. The Goan fish curry wasn’t the best I’ve had but reasonable enough. Tadka Dhal was also very good. Rich and creamy, good complexity of flavours. The breads (garlic naan and a paratha) were reasonable. Definitely had better but they were not poor to the chew and taste either.

The food was super yummy! Arbind, the staff, was super helpful and attentive. I’d definitely come back here again. Definitely get the butter chicken and the potato thingy too!

The food was okay. As someone who’s a fan of Indian cuisine and has eaten it around the world, I was a little underwhelmed by the quality. I was excited to try it based off the reviews. The food was served cool and the quality did not feel fresh. Also, this was the first restaurant I’ve been to here that asks for a service charge, which is uncustomary for Viet Nam. There are other Indian restaurants that provide higher quality food and a better dining experiences for a much cheaper price. Update: this place gave us food poisoning 🤢

If you are looking for great Indian food away from home.. this place should be on 1st place to go.. I came here having dal chawal craving post 1 week after landing in Ho Chi Minh City.. and trust me this place delivered soo good food specially pakora platter.. it was just out of the world.. I came back again the next day for dinner as i couldn’t resist trying other things too.. Lovely atmosphere and such a good hospitality.. Will definitely be back soon.. best wishes ❤️
