Koryori Nishi 小料理西 - Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

It’s been a while since I’ve had such delicious Japanese food. It was truly delicious. The only slight downside was that they didn’t serve sake by the glass. I understand that serving Japanese sake by the glass isn’t cost-effective, but it would have been nice to have that option. Every dish was refined and truly elaborate. The owner cooks right in front of you, which adds a sense of liveliness. Although it’s a counter-style restaurant, the atmosphere allows you to enjoy your meal without feeling self-conscious. I especially recommend the clay pot rice. It’s a must-try dish. It’s such a great restaurant that I definitely want to go back!

Food is actually 100/10. I highly recommend to try all their special dishes, can skip rice pot. Not a lot of seating, better to book in advance or come late around 8:30PM. Food serving is fast. Staff is nice and friendly. Simply the best Japanese restaurant in Pham Viet Chanh area (known as new Japanese area in town).

A small, cozy, and charming Japanese eatery in the Thị Nghè area. The dishes are delicate and well-balanced. Totally fall in love with their crab rice pot 🦀 — sweet, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned.

This is easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in HCMC. I have visited here many times and tried nearly the entire menu. They also offer a daily menu, which is surprisingly good. This means you can visit every day without getting bored. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to find a place with Japanese vibe and good Japanese food

The whole restaurant seats 23 people, with 9 at the counter. Prices are pretty reasonable, not too pricey. The menu is different from your usual Japanese restaurant, with many unique dishes you will not find elsewhere. Only a few dishes are prepared right in front of you at the counter. The rest are cooked in the kitchen and brought out. They have 4 daily specials displayed at the counter, which change every day. The freshness of all the ingredients is top-notch. I am satisfied with all the food I ordered, yet there was no wow factor here or left any long lasting impression on me. The chef is not interested in interacting with customers, which is fine. We understand that he wants to focus on cooking rather than chatting with customers. Nonetheless, the service from the server was excellent. She took the time to explain the specials, helped us choose which dish on the menu might be suitable to our liking, and even showed us how to enjoy the dish to the fullest. However, their booking system needs serious work. What is the point of having a phone number if no one ever answers? We had to call multiple times before giving up and eventually went to the restaurant to book a table three days in advance.
