A canelé speciality shop in Thảo Điền. They features a distinctive deep green facade and a minimalist interior, offering a calm atmosphere for a quiet tea time. The menu highlights a commitment to premium ingredients, including AOP butter, Tahiti vanilla beans, and dark rum. The signature vanilla canelé achieves a masterful balance of textures: a thick, crunchy caramelized shell contrasting with a moist, custard-like interior. Even filled varieties like Matcha and Mango retain their crispness without becoming soggy, showcasing impressive craftsmanship. For those taking treats to go, the shop provides helpful reheating instructions inside the box to restore the original crunch at home. Their refreshing drinks, such as the Sparkling Apricot, also serve as perfect pairings to cut through the rich sweetness. A top-tier choice for pastry enthusiasts in HCMC.

Poin Canelé & More - Bakery in Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
Poin Canelé & More occupies a deep green shopfront on Đường số 54 in An Khánh, and the interior carries the same restraint — minimalist, calm, built around the pastry rather than the aesthetic. The focus is singular: canelé, done with premium French ingredients. AOP butter, Tahiti vanilla beans, and dark rum go into every batch, producing the thick caramelized shell that shatters cleanly and gives way to a dense, moist custard centre.
The flavor range demands time at the counter. Earl Grey infuses the batter with Twinings bergamot throughout, and pistachio draws consistent repeat orders. The Charcoal Lava pairs jet-black batter with salted egg cream, while the Mango variant layers tajín seasoning and chamoy drizzle over mango ganache — closer to a Mexican street-snack crossover than a French patisserie. The Cheese Bacon — double cheese, Ly Son garlic, bacon — ventures into savory territory that catches first-timers off guard. Across the filled varieties, the shell holds its crunch rather than softening under ganache or cream, which is where the technique shows.
Drinks are Japanese-leaning and low-intervention: Kyoto matcha cold-whisked with oat milk and no added sugar, a double hojicha latte using premium roasted green tea, cold brews spiked with yuzu juice or mixed berries. The Americano has drawn specific praise from at least one reviewer who compared it to specialty coffee in Australia — a notable claim in a neighborhood with no shortage of coffee options.
The crowd skews toward people who want to sit quietly — a book, a laptop, an unhurried hour — rather than a social scene. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 AM to 7 PM.

Best canale and tiramisu I have ever had 🤤
I am a certified canele eater. I have eaten over 5,000 canele in my life from all over the world. My doctor can show you my blood sugar to prove this is true. I got the matcha and the vanilla. They were absolutely amazing. Thick crust outside. A little crunch but Soft creamy inside. Wow! I very much recommend this place. If you are not 100% happy after eating this, you are not allowed to travel to France.
Found this place before picking up my cat from the vet. Real good
