Poulet Việt Nam Sài Gòn Centre - French restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Great food and great service. The only issue was the duck confit, which was not correctly made - it was more like a roasted duck than confit. The mushroom soup was surprisingly delicious and we ended up ordered it 2 times :)!

Tried their offer of a side dish and a main course. French fries did not seem to be home made and were average. Spaghetti's were not al dente but they were ok. The chicken and sauce was probably the best on this. For the price, a good value in such a place.

The most we spent for two was around 1.1 million VND, and every time we left completely full and very happy 😄 Must try dishes: •creamy chicken (just 💔), • fig salad • the broccoli soup from the vegetarian menu. They offered us a dessert in exchange for a review, but I said no, because everything was already perfect without any extras. You guys are amazing! Wishing you full tables and even more happy guests, you truly deserve it! 🫶

I’ve known about Poulet for a long time but never tried it because I always assumed Western-style roasted chicken would be very dry. After finally trying it today, I’ve definitely changed my mind. The restaurant does use smaller chickens with relatively large breasts, similar to the roasted chickens you often see from Costco on TikTok. However, the roasting is done very skillfully: the skin is beautifully golden and the fat has rendered out, yet the meat remains tender and juicy (especially considering it’s a breast-heavy chicken). I think younger diners or people who enjoy Western food will particularly like it, as the sauces strike a nice balance between Western and Vietnamese flavors, making the dishes quite approachable. The staff were also professional and efficient.

I loved the ambience of this branch of this excellent restaurant. The music, lighting, seating arrangements and decor are all first class..indeed exceptional considering the price point of this establishment. My wife and I ordered the lunch special which is extremely well priced and provides a balanced, satisfying meal. What we had wasn’t up to the standards of what we had at Poulet in Bangkok, but that was ordered à la carte. Accordingly it was priced significantly higher and seemed more prepared to order. Regardless, I’ll look forward to returning here when next in Saigon, near the center, and will make a point of ordering à la carte to see how it compares.
