Cocotte Ben Thanh - French restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Had a really great French dinner in Vietnam tonight. The food was simple but delicious. The steak was excellent,which served with a nice sauce. The staff of the restaurant is very friendly. It a very good experience and a truly memorable meal.

Worth a try after shopping at Ben Tanh market. This is not exactly along the main road but there is a large sign to direct ppl into the alley leading to the restaurant. Food wise is decent and food is served fast. It is not that crowded on a weekday so good place to get your French food fix.

Personally, I would have preferred a simpler, milder flavour, as I am not accustomed to heavily spiced soups. The chicken parmigiana was perfectly executed — crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside, with cheese flowing out as you cut into it. We appreciated the modest portion size, which allowed us to fully enjoy the steak and duck confit as well. The restaurant was bustling with diners, and it is easy to understand why — the quality of the food, combined with reasonable pricing, makes it a popular choice. Do note that tables are placed quite close together, so the space can feel rather compact during peak hours. Overall, it was a delightful experience and an excellent choice for casual French cuisine.
