I like that the restaurant has both Bún bò and cơm tấm. However the Bún bò stock was a tad too salty for my taste. Cơm tấm was great according to my friend.

Ruốc Spice - Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Ruốc Spice occupies a space that reads differently from the minimalist cafes and brunch spots that fill out Thao Dien's streets. Nostalgic Saigon photography covers the walls, the seating is comfortable, and the air conditioning makes it a reliable midday stop when the heat outside is unrelenting. The retro interior is deliberate and well-executed rather than decorative afterthought.
The kitchen's reputation is built almost entirely on its bún bò Huế. The broth is the talking point — concentrated and layered, made with fresh ingredients including a house-made crab cake that separates it from the standard version served at local street stalls. Spice tiers give diners some control: the A Spice with pork trotter runs 150,000 VND at the upper end, the C Spice at 100,000 VND. The pork trotter is consistently described as tender. Cơm tấm is available as well, and while early feedback on the rice plates was mixed, returning visitors have noted a marked improvement — suggesting the kitchen has sharpened its execution since the Thao Dien location opened.
Pricing sits around 1.5 times what a street-stall bowl costs in the neighborhood, a gap that most regulars accept given the quality of the meat and the depth of the broth. The restaurant opens at 6:30 AM every day of the week, making it one of the rare sit-down options in the area for anyone who wants a proper bowl early in the morning. Service has been noted favorably by multiple reviewers — specific enough to suggest the front-of-house is attentive rather than just functional. For those who track down good bún bò Huế in this part of the city, it has become a dependable address.

Reviews
The meat is soft and tasty, will come back here for sure for the best Bun Bo in town. I even finished the extra noodle, broth and meat I ordered more.
Tried Roc Spic on a whim for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the charming, old European café vibe. The space is air-conditioned, clean, and well-organized, with nostalgic Saigon photos lining the walls, which nice touch. I originally came for the cơm tấm but was told rice wouldn’t be available for two hours, so I opted for their bún bò Huế instead. I ordered the A Spice with pork trotter (150k), and my wife chose the C Spice (100k). The ingredients were fresh and high quality, but the portions felt underwhelming for the price, especially mine, which was light on noodles and at best, an adequate amount of meat. The sauces and pickled garlic were excellent, but I left feeling hungry, which was a letdown. Overall, great atmosphere and ingredient quality, but the portion size didn’t quite match the price.
Nicely done retro design, comfy seats, reasonably priced. Good service. Best Bun Bo Hue I had in a while. Will come back for it often.
It is one the best Bun Bo in Thao Dien, it is really concentrated soup, home made crab cake. Totally recommend it.
