SUSHI IZAKAYA MAKIMAKI - Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I had a really great experience at Makimaki. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere made it a perfect place for a late Japanese dinner. We tried several kinds of sashimi and everything was extremely fresh and well prepared. The stuffed crab with scallops was absolutely spectacular and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The potato salad was also surprisingly good, and overall the quality of the ingredients compared to the price is excellent. Another big plus is that they close late, which is not always easy to find in District 7. Honestly, I think Makimaki is one of the best options for late-night sushi in District 7, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

I visited Maki Maki Sushi today and had a great experience overall. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who were attentive without being intrusive. The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor — especially the sashimi and signature rolls, which were perfectly balanced. Even though I didn’t have any alcohol this time, the meal was still very enjoyable and satisfying. The quality of the fish and the care put into each dish really stood out. I’ll definitely come back to try more items on the menu next time. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic, well-made sushi!

Revisited after two months, and the place now has some wonderful new styling. The bluefin tuna sashimi is exquisite — rich with a clean, ocean-fresh sweetness. The staff and atmosphere are as lovely as always!
